What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — such as localStorage, sessionStorage, and pixel tags — serve comparable purposes. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of them.

Categories we use

Strictly necessary. Required for the Platform to work. You cannot opt out of these without breaking core functionality:

• Authentication cookies set by our partner Clerk (session, CSRF).
• A small preference cookie (uc_cookie_consent) recording your consent choice.
• Next.js / Vercel infrastructure cookies for routing and security.

Analytics (optional, consent-based). Used only if you accept:

• PostHog cookies and localStorage entries to measure feature usage and product funnels.
• Vercel Analytics cookies for basic traffic metrics.

Functional. Remember your preferences (theme, locale). Set only when you interact with the relevant feature.

We do not use advertising cookies and we do not participate in cross-site tracking.

Your choices

When you first visit Undercurrent, a cookie banner asks whether you want to accept optional analytics cookies. Your choice is stored in uc_cookie_consent and — if you are signed in — on your user record so the choice persists across devices.

You can change your choice at any time from your account settings or by clearing uc_cookie_consent in your browser.

Most browsers also allow you to block or delete cookies directly. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may prevent the Platform from working.

Retention

• Strictly-necessary session cookies: up to the end of your browser session.
• Strictly-necessary persistent cookies: up to 1 year.
• Analytics cookies: up to 1 year from your last visit.
