Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everyone who uses Undercurrent. It is incorporated into the Terms of Service. Breach of this AUP is grounds for content removal, account suspension, or termination.

You must not

  • Infringe copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property. Only post, embed, or sell content you own or are licensed to use. See the DMCA Policy for takedown procedures.
  • Post illegal, hateful, or harmful content. This includes content that is defamatory, threatening, harassing, glorifies violence, promotes discrimination against protected groups, or depicts the sexual exploitation of minors. Content promoting self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders is not allowed.
  • Harass or abuse other users. Stalking, doxxing, sustained unwanted contact, targeted harassment, and threats are prohibited.
  • Impersonate another person, band, venue, or organisation. Parody accounts must be clearly labelled as such.
  • Spam, scrape, or automate abusively. No bulk unsolicited messages, no scraping at scale, no automation that degrades service for other users.
  • Commit fraud. No fake listings, no payment-fraud, no chargeback abuse, no fake reviews for yourself or others, no artificial engagement inflation.
  • Attack or probe the Platform. No attempts to breach security, no vulnerability scanning without written permission, no bypassing rate limits or access controls, no DDoS, no malware.
  • Violate export controls or sanctions. If you are located in or export to a jurisdiction subject to comprehensive UK, US, or EU sanctions you may not use the Platform.
  • Sell prohibited items. See the Seller Terms for the list of items that may not be listed.

Band-specific rules

Posing as a band or artist you are not a member of is not allowed. Bands have an "owner" role; only owners and authorised members (as represented in the Clerk organisation for that band) may post on the band's behalf.

Reporting abuse

Use the in-app report button wherever you see violating content, or email abuse@undercurrent.band with a URL and a short description. We aim to acknowledge reports within one working day.

How we enforce

We may remove content, disable features, suspend accounts, or terminate accounts for AUP breaches. Serious breaches may be reported to law enforcement. Decisions are made by humans; you can appeal by replying to the enforcement notice we send to your registered email.
